This specific position will be located in our Cheyenne, Wyoming office.

The Legal Assistant position is responsible for assisting the litigation department and attorneys and the firm with various production duties including preparing letters for dispute resolution, following up on the dispute process, preparing dismissals, and other filing and service duties as needed for the position.  



  • Review accounts for dispute resolution based on federal, state, and client requirements
  • Drafting verification of debt
  • Following up on completion of verifications by attorneys
  • Draft dismissals based on state and client requirements
  • Assist with litigation projects, including mailing/filing with courts
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform tasks in a high-stress environment.
  • Displays an ability to adjust quickly to varying priorities and maintains a positive attitude during change
  • Maintains a high degree of attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Supports a culture of accountability, ownership, and honesty

  • Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills and customer service provision
  • Types 50 Words per minute or more
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail, faxes, and online contacts from consumers on a daily basis
  • Process production workflow data entry and ensure daily deadlines are met


  • Hourly range: $15.00 to $17.00

Education, Formal Training, or Certificates:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required



  • Previous clerical/office experience preferred
  • Previous experience in the collections industry preferred but not required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
  • Organized with an extremely high attention to detail
  • Must complete assignments with minimal errors
  • Excellent troubleshooting and business-to-business communication
  • Must be self -motivated and reliable
  • Functioning knowledge of Microsoft Excel


Working Environment:

  • Majority of this position will be in a professional office environment
  • Sitting 80%, Standing/Walking 20%
  • Will type, write, use finger dexterity, talk, hear, and see (up close and moderate distances) as a normal part of job duties
  • Will occasionally need to lift up to 50 lbs.
